Enrichment platform · comparison
Clay alternative
A step in your waterfall, not a replacement for it.
What Clay is
An enrichment platform that chains many data providers together in a waterfall, so if one source misses, the next is tried.
Orchestration and breadth. Dozens of providers behind one table, with logic to pick between them. Nothing open source replaces that.
Pick Clay when: You are building enrichment across many attributes, not just email. Clay is the right shape for that and we are not competing with it.
You want a verification step in the waterfall that reports the server's reply rather than another provider's guess. Our API is open and needs no key.
Side by side

Clay is credit-based and scales with row volume. Free and MIT, or $59/mo hosted.
The honest summary
Verdict has no contact database and does not send campaigns. It opens an SMTP connection to the receiving server, asks whether the mailbox exists, and reports what the server said. When the server refuses to answer, or the domain accepts every address, it says so instead of guessing. That is the whole product, it is MIT licensed, and it runs on your own machine so the list never goes anywhere.
Try it on a real list
Paste up to 500 addresses. Free, no signup, nothing stored. The fairest test is your last campaign's bounce list, since you already know which ones failed.
